Hyla Brook Farm, LLC
Native Plants and Plants for Wildlife

The Farm

Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in native plants and for helping us to make a living doing what we love.  The nursery is a lifelong dream come true.  We hope you enjoy watching your plants grow as much as we enjoyed getting them started.

Hyla Brook Farm is a forty acre working farm nestled into a fertile area of Central Virginia.  To the west are the Southwest Mountains, foothills of the Blue Ridge.  Corn and soybeans are the mainstay crops with barley for a winter cover.  With plenty of meadows we're keeping the tractor tuned and ready for mowing.

The greenhouse beyond the pole barn is a 96 X 30 foot gothic style house.   The newly seeded pots spend a few weeks in the shelter of the greenhouse before making their way out to the shade houses.

Many, many thanks to our devoted staff, Ryan Cooper, Kathy Craig,  and Daniel Primiani, who were full of creative ideas and  worked hard every day.  They even made weeding fun!
